Jon Flanagan is now in the Danish second tier alongside fellow Liverpool hero
Liverpool and England international Jon Flanagan has linked up with a former Anfield team-mate in Denmark.Industrious fullback Flanagan made a promising start to his career, which saw him on stand-by for the ill-fated 2014 World Cup, but a succession of injuries hampered his progress. He spent time on loan at Burnley and Bolton Wanderers but failed to rediscover his early promise and left Liverpool permanently in 2018. He made just 51 appearances for the reds. After disappointing spells with Rangers and Belgian outfit Charleroi, he is hoping a former Liverpool teammate can kickstart his career.Anfield aficionado Daniel Agger, who famously has ‘YNWA’ tattooed across his knuckles, is the manager of Danish second division side HB Koge.He took over HB Koge in March and is getting ready for his first full season in charge.Flanagan has signed a two-year deal with the Danish side and is one of Agger’s first signings in his maiden job in senior football management. On the signing of Flanagan, HB Koge director Per Rud told the club’s website: “We have long had Jon Flanagan on our list of priority items for the player squad, and are delighted that we have agreed on a deal.
