EXCLUSIVE: After landing the hot package Red Shirt earlier in the week, Amazon Studios has added another high-profile property to their slate as Sources tell Deadline the studio has landed the action comedy Moxie starring Keke Palmer. Deadline broke the news that the package was out to buyers before the Thanksgiving Holiday and Amazon moved fast to land the rights tot pic featuring one of the bigger stars of 2022. Hawkeye director Bert is on board to direct with Heather Quinn penning the script. Palmer, Peter Lawson and Kate Churchill are producing. Sharon Palmer is exec producing.

Disney Plus this morning after originally landing in theaters on June 17. Giving fans a long-awaited look into the iconic character before he became a popular toy, the Buzz Lightyear origin story was the first Pixar movie in years to premiere in cinemas.

In an ET exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the recent Disney/Pixar release, the actress and the film's director, Angus MacLane, detail how Palmer embodied the character of Izzy Hawthorne, an idealistic young recruit who fights alongside Buzz Lightyear (Chris Evans) on the colonial defense forces.«Keke Palmer is a force of nature,» MacLane raves in the clip. «She's insightful, super empathetic, and very direct in a very charming way.»«She was able to do both the fast-delivery comedy, and also the delivering of the emotional message, and have that switch feel natural,» the director adds.For her part, Palmer also praises MacLane as «a great director, because he allows me to play, and go wherever I need to go to find the character.»In, Palmer's character, Izzy, is the granddaughter of Buzz's late friend and commanding officer, Alisha Hawthorne (Uzo Aduba), and has an emotional journey as she strives to live up to her family legacy — as well as save the universe from a powerful threat.«Through this journey with Buzz, she is able to reach her full potential, and fill those shoes of her grandmother, that she thought she'd never be able to fill,» the actress shares.

Disney and Pixar have announced when the hit Buzz Lightyear-inspired film will be released on Disney Plus. Around a month-and-a-half on from debuting in UK cinemas, Lightyear will be available to stream on August 3.

TM to the Lightyear press tour, but Keke Palmer is bringing the fashion. For her latest look on June 16, was photographed outside of ABC Studios wearing a pleated gold and white dress that feels perfect for any summer occasion, whether it's brunch with the girls or an outdoor wedding. The star styled the dress with a pair of white pumps and minimal jewelry, completing the ensemble with a soft makeup look and a glossy lip. Just look at how the dress moves!Though this is one of Palmer's more accessible looks—the meme queen is known for taking fashion risks—she spiced things up later in the day. In more photographs outside of ABC Studio, Palmer was seen in an open, floor-length yellow top, which she wore with green pants and a pair of black heeled booties. Frankly, Keke Palmer is eating up every red carpet and press appearance as she promotes the Disney Pixar film.

A spinoff was bound to come out sooner or later. Did we need an origin story to the Buzz Lightyear character from Toy Story? No. BUT the Lightyear film by Angus MacLane certainly does know how to build a world around the character we only learned about through the toy story franchise. The film is about a flight, failure, and working together to achieve a common goal.
