Eva Longoria has stated that Desperate Housewives would be 'cancelled' if the dark-comedy were to be on screens in the modern day. The star, 48, played conniving but loveable supermodel Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series which ran from 2004 to 2012, and for which she received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Storylines and behind-the-scenes snippets left jaws dropping, including Gabrielle's statutory rape of her 17-year-old gardener John Rowland (played by Jesse Metcalfe), a lack of diversity and showrunner Marc Cherry's spat with cast members.
