A real-life superhero. Tom Hardy quietly entered a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in his home country of England and took home the gold medal.

Tom Hardy made a surprise appearance over the weekend at a jiu-jitsu tournament in England, where not only did he shock fellow competitors with his appearance, but he also came out on top!The  star on Saturday entered the 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship at Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, England, about 50 miles northwest of London. The tournament was being held by Ultimate Martial Arts Championships at a nearby school and, according to, the 45-year-old actor subdued every one of his opponents to win the tournament.Hardy, who reportedly wore blue gi (or uniform), was later awarded a certificate of achievement that bared his real name, Edward Hardy.

As reported by The Guardian, Harder was a surprise competitor at the 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship in Milton Keynes, England. The actor entered the competition under his real name, Edward Hardy, and won the gold prize. “Everyone recognized him, but he was very humble and was happy to take time out for people to take photographs with him,” a spokesperson for the event told The Guardian. “It was a real pleasure to have him compete at our event.”

Tom Hardy was a surprise competitor in a recent jiu-jitsu competition in the UK, where he ended up winning the gold medal.The actor reportedly “secretly arranged” to participate in the 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship at the Oakgrove School in Milton Keys, which took place last Saturday (September 17).Speaking to the Daily Mail, event sponsor Sean Rosborough said that organisers knew about Hardy’s involvement in the tournament, but decided to keep it a secret as they didn’t want “masses of people turning up [and] distracting him”.Hardy faced Andy Leatherland, a 42-year-old sales manager and a jiu-jitsu blue belt, in the final round of the competition, where he ultimately emerged victorious.Leatherland told the Daily Mail that he decided to sign up for the tournament after realising that Hardy would be participating.“I was contemplating the Milton Keynes tournament as it was very local,” he said. “And then one morning – [the actor] goes by the name Edward Hardy – I saw that he’d actually signed up.”Leatherland went on to describe Hardy as a “very focused” fighter, before admitting that their match was over “relatively quickly”.“I made a mistake and he capitalised on that, he said.
