There’s some good news for all you DIY nuts – as architect Dermot Bannon has confirmed that RTÉ’s home renovation series Room To Improve will be back for a new series later this year.

The earth really is healing as Dermot Bannon has returned to our screens, although he wasn’t improving any rooms this time around. Rather than his iconic home renovation show, Room to Improve, he was hosting a new series.

If there’s one thing the past year has taught us, it’s that change can happen so quickly, whether we like it or not. So there’s a reassurance in the little signs that things are slowly returning to normal — there’s a new series of Room To Improve on the way for the autumn and Dermot Bannon is back on the box this weekend too.

We love any TV show with Dermot Bannon at the helm and luckily, he has a new project about to air on RTÉ screens.

It was a jam-packed show on The Late Late Show last night, with a very familiar face there to entertain viewers at home and no, we’re not talking about Ryan Tubridy.

We’ve been missing seeing Dermot Bannon on our TV screens every week, so we will certainly be tuning into The Late Late Show on Friday. The second last show of the season is bringing the architect back to our screens.

Room To Improve this year due to the delay caused by Covid-19, but despite rumours to the contrary, the good news is filming has now started for the next series, pencilled in for autumn 2021 — details that will be received gratefully by all those who were worried it might never return.‘Everyone keeps saying to me, “Is Room to Improve gone?” and I say, “Well, why am I working on it then?” My sister-in-law said she read it somewhere that the series was gone but I’m getting paid to do it and we are filming now.‘It was the way things happened this year, we couldn’t get straight into it when the old series ended.
