direct to your inboxA dog found abandoned and in poor health is getting ready to spend his first Christmas with a new family after being nursed back to health.Terry, an eight-year-old crossbreed, was found scared, underweight and with a badly injured tail in April just a few weeks after the start of lockdown.The animal was nursed back to health, including surgery to amputate a part of his tail, thanks to Dogs Trust Manchester.Now he has been given a new home by a gran from Openshaw, but the charity fears many more cases like Terry because of the economic hardship caused by the pandemic.Dawn Bishop, the manager of the charity's Denton base where Terry was cared for, said: "It was heart breaking to see Terry when he first arrived.
