Greenock.The 21-year-old was attacked within a close on Gael Street shortly after midnight on Friday, February 19.Officers believe he disturbed three men who were loitering in the area with the intention of stealing a number of items.Emergency services were called to the scene and the victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment to his painful wounds.Medics were forced to use a number of staples on a wound dangerously close to his left eye and a further stitch on his head.”Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the culprits who have not yet been arrested.Detective Inspector David Wagstaff, of Greenock CID, said: "The victim stays within a flat in the close and he disturbed three males who were there possibly to steal items.The
