Dua Lipa has performed a cover of Cleo Sol‘s ‘Sunshine’ for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge – you can watch the video below.The pop star played a five-track set at the legendary Maida Vale Studios in London recently in support of her third album ‘Radical Optimism’, which was released last Friday (May 3).Lipa and her band showcased her singles ‘Training Season’ and ‘Illusion’, and gave the song ‘Happy For You’ its live debut. They also performed a reworked version of ‘Be The One’ from the singer’s 2017 debut record.For her cover, Lipa delivered a powerful rendition of ‘Sunshine’ from Sol’s 2021 album ‘Mother’.

Logic1000 has opened up to NME about how an intensive period of therapy has transformed her ability to tour and perform on stage.The producer and DJ, real name Samantha Poulter, is this week’s star of NME’s The Cover, a renewal of our commitment to supporting emerging talent across the globe on a weekly basis.In the interview, she explained that a 10-month pause in live performance in 2023 allowed her time to engage in a revelatory spell of professional therapy, which allowed her to re-engage with touring in a healthier and more fulfilling way.“It changed me – it was a total paradigm shift,” Poulter explained. “I look back on the person I was before all of this therapy this year and it’s a very different person to who I am now.

SAULT have finally played their first ever live show, and brought out Little Simz and Michael Kiwanuka to celebrate the occasion – watch everything that went down below.The mysterious collective, who are yet to reveal any of their names or faces, have steadily released music since their debut ‘5’ in 2019. SAULT have never officially confirmed their bandmembers; however, producer Inflo is generally regarded as the leader, with Cleo Sol, Kid Sister, Chronixx and more providing uncredited vocals.A few days ago, the collective confirmed a world tour as well the date of their first ever show, which was held at London’s new venue Drumsheds.

Sault have teased that they will soon be playing a set of new music live for one time only. Last week (November 25), Sault posted a message on their official Instagram account that read: “SAULT LIVE, LONDON, 2023”. They captioned the image with the words, “Sharing our gifts”.

SZA has expressed her love for the music of two of rock’s most polarising bands, Creed and Nickelback in a new interview.The ‘Kill Bill’ singer named Creed and Nickelback while speaking to Variety about her favourite music in commemoration of being named the magazine’s ‘Hitmaker of the Year’.“The other day you know what I pulled up? Creed, Nickelback, Train’s ‘Drops of Jupiter’, just a whole bunch of that,” she said, as the interviewer facepalmed and burst out in laughter. “Wait, you know what’s crazy? Do white people hate Creed and Nickelback? Why? Black people love them! They rock! That shit is bomb!”She proceeded to specifically express her admiration for ‘Higher’, the ninth track off Creed’s 1999 sophomore full-length, ‘Human Clay’.

The nominations for this year’s Ivor Novello Awards have been announced. Out front this year are two songwriting duos – Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon, and Cleo Sol and Inflo – both of whom are up for three awards.Among the nods for Styles and Harpoon are one for Songwriter Of The Year, all for their work on Styles’ latest album ‘Harry’s House’.

The nominations for this year’s AIM Independent Music Awards have been announced, with multiple nods for the likes of Dave, FKA Twigs, Wet Leg, Nilüfer Yanya, Taahliah and more.As well as shortlists for the bulk of the awards, a long old longlist has also been put up for the Best Live Performer category, with the decision of the overall winner being put to the public. Have a go at voting in that yourself here.The big reveal of all the winners will take place at the Roundhouse in London on 28 Sep, followed by a live show that will be open to the public. Inflo has announced the launch of a new campaign aimed at setting a base rate and royalty structure for new and emerging producers in the UK music industry.Teaming up with artist manager Nathan Burke, Inflo’s partner at the Forever Living Originals label, the campaign was announced in a statement published on his Instagram.“Nathan & I have been on a mission to introduce a base rate and royalty for young producers in the UK,” he wrote. “This will ensure young producers are protected on any major label releases and have a code of conduct to go by.”He continued: “Everyone agrees no young or upcoming producers should be exploited, and the artist shouldn’t have to give up any further royalty share than they already have been.

“The Kelly Rowland” show is something the singer could really dig into.

Sault, the mysterious U.K.-based group, have released a new album. Air arrived on streaming platforms on Friday and features seven new songs.

Sault appear to be teasing a new project called ‘Air’ after wiping their instagram and uploading five snippets of new music – listen below.The series of new posts begins with an image that sees the word “Air” written onto a blank background, similar to album covers for Sault’s previous records ‘5’, ‘7’ and ‘Nine’.A post shared by SAULT (@saultglobal)That post is then followed by five of the same image of a painted figure looking out over the Earth from on high. Each one is accompanied by a snippet of music and what could be song titles.‘Solar’, ‘Heart’, ‘Lous Higher’ and ‘Air’ are all snippets of bold, atmospheric instrumentals with an orchestral edge while ‘Time Is Precious’ features the choral lyrics: “Don’t waste time, ‘cos time is precious/ It’s your only time you got here, life will always bring its pressures/ Use it wisely, keep those treasures.”Check it out below:A post shared by SAULT (@saultglobal)The band took a similar approach for ‘Nine’, which was first mentioned in an Instagram post and then released in full a few weeks later.Sault were nominated for the 2021 Mercury Music Prize for their album ‘Untitled (Rise)’.
