Slipknot‘s Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has shared an update on the current state of the band as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album – see what Crahan had to say below.Over the past 15 years, Slipknot have seen a number of member changes; founding bassist Paul Gray died in May 2010 at the age of 38 due to an overdose. In 2013, founding drummer Joey Jordison was fired from the band, and he later died in July 2021 at the age of 46.In 2019, the band parted ways with percussionist Chris Fehn after he filed a lawsuit against them, alleging that his bandmates had set up several other Slipknot affiliated business entities in different states that he was unaware of. He later settled out of court with the band.In June 2023, they announced the departure of original keyboardist and sampler Craig Jones, and in November announced that they had let go of Jordison’s replacement drummer Jay Weinberg.Slipknot are now celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album with an assortment of new members.

Slipknot fans have begun referring to the mystery member who replaced keyboardist and sampler Craig Jones last year as ‘Samples’ following the reveal of the band’s new masks this week.Jones’ departure was announced almost a year ago with his replacement introduced almost immediately after, just prior to The Nine’s headline slot at that year’s Download Festival.Impressively, Mr Samples’ identity still remains unknown. At the time of them being brought into the band, they were christened ‘Greg Bones’, ‘The Gimp’, ‘Leatherface’, ‘Zipper Dude’ and ‘Hoodie Guy’ by fans.The new nickname came about, however, when Slipknot posted photos of each member’s new mask to Instagram.

Slipknot have finally confirmed the identity of their newest member, known as Tortilla Man, who has been with the band since 2019.The band confirmed Tortilla Man’s identity through an photo that shows the percussionist holding up a note reading “I AM MICHAEL PFAFF”. The Instagram post was captioned “You’ve been warned” and announced an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit leading up to the band’s Knotfest Roadshow tour.A post shared by Slipknot (@slipknot)Pfaff’s reveal comes three years after he first joined the band in 2019, replacing longtime backing vocalist and percussionist Chris Fehn.
