Sign up for the latest from M.E.N. political editor Jennifer Williams The percentage of people facing long waits at A&E departments in England has hit a record low as nearly a quarter of arrivals waited more than four hours to be seen last month, new figures from the NHS show.
Last month, just 77 per cent of patients were admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours of their arrival at A&E - the lowest percentage recorded since the data collection started.
