Pep Guardiola has sent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a positive message after his Manchester United rival got the sack. The departure of the Reds boss was officially announced this morning after United slumped to a 4-1 defeat at Watford, a fortnight after Guardiola's City had dominated them in a 2-0 derby win at Old Trafford.
The Blues moved nine points ahead of their cross-town rivals with a 3-0 win over Everton, and after the game, Guardiola expressed his sympathy for the Norwegian - and pointed out one big plus from his record at United.
The Reds beat City in three of the five league meetings in which Solskjaer was in charge of United - and that was duly noted by Guardiola.
