Pep Guardiola could use Manchester City's two-year ban from the Champions League as an opportunity to quit the club and take a step back from football.

That's the opinion of Emmanuel Petit, who reckons the Spaniard may be in need of a rest and should take a sabbatical, like he did in 2012 after four years managing Barcelona. "I think that could be an option for him [quitting City in the summer due to the Champions League ban]," Petit told Mirror Football. "It could be an opportunity for him to step back and have some rest.
