Championship leaders Fulham shocked the Premier League champions as they took the lead four minutes into the game when Harry Wilson found space down the right and played in Fabio Carvalho to lash home.
City equalised immediately through Ilkay Gundogan and then took the lead with a set-piece, but it wasn't until the second half that they were able to take control of the game.
With a tactical tweak, City began to work more opportunities and Riyad Mahrez claimed two goals to make it 4-1 and send the Blues into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
