An estimated 850,000 people of State Pension age could still receive cost of living payments worth up to £599 due before Spring 2024, even though they are not currently claiming one of the qualifying means-tested benefits, or know when the eligibility periods are.
The next cost of living payment is worth £300 and is due to be paid sometime this Autumn to those on income-related benefits, including Pension Credit.
A Pension Credit award of just a few pence is enough to qualify for the remaining means-tested cost of living payments worth £300 and £299 (to be paid in Spring 2024).
Pensioners eligible for the Winter Fuel Payment, born before September 25, 1957, will also qualify for the £300 pensioner cost of living payment.
