Many have been put off bowling for good after a TikTok user's revelation about the grime lurking on communal bowling balls. The video, which has caused quite the stir, displayed a shocking amount of germ growth and it's safe to say, the findings are rather alarming.The social media user used two Petri dishes, marking one 'outside bowling ball' and the other 'holes'.
They swabbed the inside of the lids with cotton buds before placing them in a fridge to incubate.The results were astonishing upon removal, revealing a significant germ presence. "Lordy me," the user exclaimed.
While there were some clear areas on the outside of the bowling ball, the sample from the holes was "just a blanket of growth".
The clip has since sparked hundreds of comments, with viewers expressing their shock at the level of germs. "And they serve food!!! " one viewer remarked. "I always see people eating snacks while bowling and not washing their hands," noted another.Some commenters admitted they had never thought about the cleanliness of the balls, with one stating: "Never even thought about how dirty they are." A number of viewers swore off bowling altogether, while another declared: "And this is the biggest reason why I hate bowling."However, not all were worried.
