The UK now, formally, has a new King. Charles III has been officially proclaimed monarch in a historic Accession Council ceremony this morning.
The formal proceedings were televised for the first time and watched by millions of people as the new King signed an oath to protect and serve the nation.
Attendees included Queen Consort Camilla and Prince William, who was seen for the first time since being honoured with the title Prince of Wales.
During the ceremony, many people shared their shock at a little-known fact about the Prince as he signed the proclamation documents with a fountain pen using his left hand.
