An 84-year-old grandad became an internet sensation on Reddit when he chose to undertake his own tree surgery.A video, uploaded by his proud grandson to the DIYUK subreddit, shows the pensioner expertly operating a cherry picker outside his house.

He adeptly handles the machine, and the footage captured shows large branches neatly falling to the ground.The accompanying post read: "My stubborn 84-year old grandad not wanting to pay 'tree surgeon' prices," It continued with details of his farming heritage and industrious nature: "He is a 3rd generation farmer so he's always been hands on.
