Paul Reubens' cause of death had officially been confirmed, after the much loved Pee-wee Herman star passed away aged 70 in July.The star’s tragic passing was officially announced on Instagram on 30 July, with his cause of death now confirmed to have been "acute myelogenous leukaemia” and "acute hypoxic respiratory failure”.
The details were revealed on Paul’s death certificate, which had been obtained by US publication The Blast. While announcing his death earlier this year, a statement made by Paul’s loved ones explained how he had ”bravely and privately fought cancer for years", which came as a surprise to many at the time.
Sadly, it has now been confirmed that it was complications of his disease, which included blood cancer and respiratory failure, as well as “metastatic lung cancer” are responsible for his death.
According to the NHS, acute myeloid leukaemia, or AML, is a specific form of cancer of the white blood cells. They state: "Acute leukaemia means it progresses quickly and aggressively, and usually requires immediate treatment.
