A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a bus on a busy road in south Manchester on Tuesday evening (August 2).

The incident sparked a huge emergency services response on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme. Paramedics attended the scene shortly before 6pm and treated a male, who was lying on the ground in the road.

He was later taken in an ambulance on a stretcher and admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary. The North West Ambulance Service has said the pedestrian, who's age has not been confirmed, sustained injuries to his arm and leg in the incident, but was conscious and still breathing at the scene.
