Ross ‘The Boss’ Montgomery has revealed he is seeing a specialist to help him shake off a troublesome elbow probably that has hampered him during his first season on the PDC Tour. The 60-year-old ended his maiden campaign 130th in the rankings after making the step up from the amateur circuit to the professional ranks in January, where he earned playing privileges for at least two years at last season’s ‘Q-School’.Over the second half of the season his elbow has been hampering him and with a break off for Christmas, having failed to qualify for the on-going World Championships in London, Montgomery is going private to try and resolve the issue in time for the 2023 season kicking off in February. He explained: “It’s a problem that has been bothering me for the last five or six months.“My elbow has been cracking and popping.

People are telling me it’s ‘golfer’s elbow’ because it’s the inside of my elbow that is bothering me.“I’ve been using a sleeve since March or April but progressively through the year, the more and more I’m playing, the worse it is getting.“I’m going to have to look into it now because it is causing issues, and I have a consultation at Rosshall (the private hospital in Glasgow).“The physiotherapist says it is something they can deal with, but there are different options they can go for.

The sleeve helps but it won’t fix it.“I will just wait and see what happens.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
