The 23-year-old spurned two first-half chances in United's Europa League 4-0 win against Real Sociedad, with goalkeeper Alex Remiro pulling off two good saves to deny the forward.
However, the England international did manage to get himself on the scoresheet in the second half as he slid the ball past Remiro following a fine pass from Fred.
Rashford now has 17 goals to his name for the Reds this season but has mainly played from a wide position rather than leading the line, and Scholes believes it is due to a lack of clinical ability in front of goal.
