The late Paul O'Grady's husband, Andre Portasio, has reportedly sparked outrage with plans to transform the star's rural estate, as conservationists condemn his proposal.

Andre has planned to remodel a hut on a rustic estate he inherited from his TV star spouse into a property triple the size, meeting stark opposition from environmentalists. They argue against the plans, insisting they '"fail to conserve or enrich the special character and unique qualities" of the Kent Downs region.

After inheriting the land upon his husband's demise in March 2023, Andre submitted proposed alterations for the security office. The charming building features an office, utility area, shower and spacious hallway.

Unsure if the building could be repurposed as an office or holiday lodging, surveyor Lavine Lammy from Lambert and Foster told Daily Mail: "Demand for a retail outlet providing food, clothes or haberdashery in this location is limited." She further noted: "Given the remoteness and the abundance of holiday let accommodation, it is fair to expect a significant vacancy void on changing the use to a holiday let," reports the Mirror.
