Paul Mescal has credited his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones for being the reason behind his Emmy Awards nominations.
Ahead of this year’s awards, the full list of Emmy nominees was released on Tuesday, with actor Paul, 24, landing a nod for lead actor in a limited series or movie for his role as Connell in the novel adaptation.
Daisy was noticeably absent from the list, but it sounds like Paul is hoping to win his gong for the both of them, as he insisted Daisy was the one that made his nomination happen.
Reacting to news of his Emmys nod on Instagram, Paul poked fun at his TV alter-ego Connell and his tendency to be a bit emotional, as he shared a screenshot of Connell crying in the BBC Three series and added the subtitle:.
