deadline.comMovie vet Patrick Wachsberger and Legendary Entertainment have created a new film production and sales banner, 193. Wachsberger will be CEO of the new entity.
It will be a standalone JV for Legendary and will complement Legendary Pictures, led by Chair of Worldwide Production Mary Parent.
193 draws its name from the number of territories that buy film rights. It will develop and produce its own slate and work with third-party producers and financiers, handling international distribution for completed films.
It will also provide capital and be across territory sales for early-stage projects. Since 2019, Wachsberger has been a partner in the TV-focused Picture Perfect Federation, a JV between him and Pascal Breton’s Federation.
