UK holidaymakers could find themselves unprotected against cancellations caused by strikes as the consumer group Which? found that nearly half of insurance police don’t cover industrial action.
According to analysis by the group of 199 packages by 71 providers, 40 per cent did not provide cover for strikes. Travellers have faced significant disruption in recent months due to long queues at airports, flight delays and cancellations.
Now passengers are bracing themselves for further chaos this summer as airline staff plan walkouts. Ryanair and EasyJet cabin crew in Spain are set to walkout on various dates throughout June which will coincide with school summer holidays.
