Party-mad Brits did not let wind and rain dampen their spirits as they headed out to bars and clubs on the first Friday since the lockdown rules were eased to allow people in bars and pubs indoors.
After months of isolation revellers headed back out to meet up with friends and socialise as city centre venues were bustling again into the early hours.
Pubs were full in Newcastle, Manchester, London and the rest of the UK as people celebrated the return to some normality. Hugging is also back, as long as it is between close family and friends, except for Northern Ireland where it will not be permitted until May 24.
