Hearing loss and epilepsy may be early signs of Parkinson's disease, according to a new study. The research, published in JAMA Neurology, uncovered the symptoms that can be seen years before a diagnosis.
The first of its kind in the UK, the study analysed the neurodegenerative disorder in a largely diverse population in a bid to take a more in-depth look at how the disease affects all people.
Researchers found that neither ethnicity nor socio-economic status was linked to an increased or decreased risk of developing Parkinson's disease.
The study, conducted by a team at Queen Mary University of London, investigated both risk factors and pre-diagnostic symptoms.
