The wife of a "superhero" paramedic has seen her "world fall apart" after her husband was killed in a freak accident when a stone hit his windscreen.

Jeremy Daw came out of retirement in January and had just a handful of shifts left when he died during an emergency call on the A49 in Herefordshire on Saturday.

The 66-year-old's daughter Kate, 42, said "life will never be the same" without her dad, particularly for her mum Dawn. Jeremy, also known as Jack, had worked for the West Midlands Ambulance Service for nearly 30 years before stepping down last year only to return months later due to the pandemic.
