Paralympian Ellie Simmonds signs up to Strictly joining Corrie star and Loose Woman

Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds OBE has signed up to Strictly Come Dancing 2022.The gold-medal winning athlete is the sixth celebrity contestant to be announced.

She'll hit the dance floor with Loose Women star Kaye Adams and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh. It’s a refreshing first for the BBC show, which has never invited a person with achondroplasia (a type of dwarfism) to take part before.The eager star revealed she's bursting with excitement and can't wait to don the sequins.

She revealed: “It’s been soooo hard keeping this secret. I’m a tad nervous too, well more than a tad… I’m absolutely petrified! “I’m counting down the minutes until it starts; learning to dance, meeting my partner and everyone else involved in the show.
