A peadophile who sexually abused a young girl over several years and took indecent images of her has been jailed. Raymond Hughes, of Thurston Close in Great Sankey, was banged up for 11 years and four months on Wednesday (June 22).
The 74-year-old was charged with four counts of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13 by penetration, one count of taking indecent images of a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of causing a child to watch sexual activity.
Hughes was rumbled when his victim told a family member what he had subjected her too during her childhood. It was reported to the police in February who found indecent images on memory cards when they searched his home. The court heard that his campaign of abuse included taking indecent photographs of the victim and making her watch pornography on his computer.
