Paddy and Christine McGuinness have publicly confirmed that their 11 year marriage has finally come to an end, after months of speculation about the state of their relationship, just weeks after Christine herself had admitted they were having a “difficult time.” Announcing the news online on Friday (July 22), both Paddy and Christine shared statements on their accounts, as they opened up about the “difficult decision” of calling time on their relationship. They wrote: "We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our life personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify. “A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. "This was not an easy decision to make but we are moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. “We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together." The split follows months of speculation about the relationship, with rumours first beginning to swirl back after Paddy wasn’t seen publicly supporting Christine during her impressive sporting stint on ITV’s The Games.

Further speculation then followed after the two were seen taking separate holidays, and when Paddy appeared to have removed a tattoo that was previously dedicated to Christine, from his hand.

Breaking her silence on the subject earlier this month, Christine admitted that things had been “difficult”over the years, but that she was still grateful because Paddy had helped to bless her with “three gorgeous kids.” She told OK! : "We have had difficult times but when I look back at our marriage.
