Oxford University scientist says we could see coronavirus death rates drop to zero by June

The daily death toll in the UK will drop to zero on some days in June, an Oxford scientist has claimed. Professor Carl Heneghan says there could be days towards the end of next month when no new coronavirus deaths are recorded at all.

It comes as the number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK passed 35,000 yesterday. The latest figures show an increase of 545 deaths across hospitals, care homes and other settings - the largest in a week, reports the Mirror.
