OVO energy to hand out free top-up credit and electric blankets this winter

Vulnerable families this winter will be provided extra support from OVO Energy. The supplier said it plans to hand out over £1 million worth of free energy-saving products in a bid to help customers reduce their energy consumption.

Through the Customer Support Package, families can get electric blankets, mattress toppers, LED bulbs, SMART sockets, and even free boiler servicing.

Customers are also being offered free payment support alongside emergency top-up credit or temporary payment reductions. In total, the supplier will pump out £40 million towards the scheme this year which opened today (October 30), the Mirror reports. Our £40million support package provides help to those who need it most this winter. But there’s more to do. We continue to campaign for long-term, sustainable support for all UK households, including a social tariff for the most vulnerable and the abolition of the standing charge for all.” Customers can apply through the supplier's website if they are an OVO or Boost Energy customer.
