Hundreds of people have been told to self-isolate after a coronavirus outbreak in Scotland linked to just one bar. More than 700 people in the north-east have been told to self-isolate as a result of a spike in Aberdeen coronavirus cases connected to the Hawthorn Bar.
NHS Grampian has confirmed a total of 134 positive cases are now linked to the initial “cluster” connected to the bar – with the total climbing by another 24 cases on Saturday.
As part of efforts to stem the spread of the virus, tracing teams working on the Aberdeen cluster have now identified 728 close contacts of people who have had a positive Covid-19 test.
