Outnumbered followers were totally gutted, right from the very first moments of the 2024 festive special's opening scene. With an eight-year gap since we last saw the Brockmans in a Christmas showdown back in 2016, they've made their much-anticipated return to our screens for what was meant to be a cozy family Christmas.

But Hugh Dennis' character Pete is hiding a devastating secret – he's fighting cancer. Yet what really had fans picking their jaws off the floor was the revelation that Pete and Sue have flown the nest from their old digs since we last saw them.
