Outlander star slams 'bull****' online scammers as he sends urgent warning to fans

Outlander star Duncan Lacroix has slammed online scammers impersonating him and other cast members of the popular Starz show and conning people out of money.

Duncan, who played Murtagh Fraser in Outlander, took to his Instagram page to make a damning video urging fans to be careful of who they are approached by online.

The actor said: "Hello everyone! Been meaning to make a video about this for a while now about online scamming."I had a message from someone today which is very concerning and I've had a few in the past, so I really want to emphasise first of all that I only have this account on Instagram, so if you're following me on Twitter, Facebook or some other kind of Instagram account that says this is just a private account just for fans, it's all bull****.

All complete bull****."They are all complete scammers, it's a whole huge industry of botfarms at this stage, by I think AI, they just generate so many accounts and messages, you know they impersonate Sam (Heughan), myself, Graham (McTavish), everyone on the show and other shows - anyone with a large following they try to impersonate and get to fan's accounts and message them.He added: "I believe they use Telegram as well to contact - I'm not really sure what Telegram is - people pretending to be me, pretending to be my 'assistant', I don't have an assistant, my PR manager and all this s*** and they, from what I can tell, ask fans to book hotel rooms and say they are going to meet them personally and they want money for VIP meetings and bla bla bla....
