Outlander has been renewed for an eighth and final season on Starz, much to the relief of heaving bosoms around the world.The popular series which focuses on the time travel romance of 20th century heroine Claire, who falls through a hole in time to meet 18th century Scotsman Jamie Fraser, is coming to a close, but not before revealing a satisfying ending.

In a statement, Starz president of original programming, Kathryn Busby said, 'before we close this chapter there is plenty of their passionate story to tell over the course of 26 new episodes.'
