Outlander fans have been left touched by the Starz show's decision to keep Sinead O'Connor's voice as the theme tune as they give fans a glimpse of the new opening credits for season 7 part two.In a new Instagram post from the official Outlander profile, the late Irish singer-songwriter, who passed away in July 2023, can be heard singing her rendition of The Skye Boat Song, which was the last song she ever recorded before she died. The post was captioned: "Easter isn’t for another six months but you bet there are some Easter eggs in the opening credits for #Outlander Season 7, Part 2!" as fans were given a sneak peek into the credits of the next eight episodes of season 2 which will premiere on Starz on Friday November 22.Sinead O'Connor is said to have "really resonated" with the main character Claire Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe, and producers were shocked and delighted when she agreed to record the song last year for the seventh season after executive producer Maril Davis reached out to her.Normally each season of Outlander sees a new version of The Skye Boat Song recorded with a different variation than before for the opening credits but the show have chosen to continue with Sinead's version after her tragic passing.Fans took to the comments to praise producers' decision as one wrote: "I am so happy that Sinead's singing the opening credits again.
