Outlander fans spot major plot hole as massive age gap revealed between Young Ian and Fergus Fraser

‘Droughtlander’ is well and truly in full swing and we reckon it will be a while before season seven of Outlander is on our screens but in the meantime fans have been delving into Diana Gabaldon’s original series of bestselling novels and have unfortunately uncovered some plot line gaps in the Fraser timeline.

Fans have figured that Fergus Fraser is considerably younger in the Outlander series than he is in the books, writes The Express.One Reddit user took to the site to share their thoughts, and they posted: “The show makes it seem like Fergus and Ian are a bit closer in age.

Bree and Fergus don’t interact much on screen so I am not really sure how we are supposed to view their age.“I am also not sure if Marsali is supposed to be the same age or younger than Bree.”In the popular STARZ series, Fergus is portrayed by 32-year-old actor César Domboy, while Young Ian, who is portrayed by John Hunter Bell, is currently 25.However, in Diana’s books, their age difference is more than double the seven-year gap between the two co-stars.Brianna McKenzie, who is played by English actress Sophie Skelton, is actually slightly younger than Marsali’s actress at 28, while Lauren Lyle is 29.According to the novels, the post continues: “Fergus was born in 1735, Young Ian 1752, Brianna 1948 and Marsali in 1751.”Unfortunately for Outlander’s die-hard fans, it appears that the TV adaptation isn't completely the same as the ages of their actors don't match up with those of the characters.The popular show, which has fans across the glob, takes place across three decades of the 18th Century, however the show’s core cast hasn’t appeared to age more than a few years.This has made knowing the accurate ages of the Fraser clan’s ages considerably
