Getting hitched is an expensive business. The average UK wedding costs a staggering £20,000. But one savvy couple managed to buck the trend, and still had an incredible day.
Jamie-Louise and Sam Phillips wanted a wedding without the 'fuss' and to keep costs down. They ditched the caterers and luxury venue - opting for a reception at an Airbnb with Domino's Pizza for the hungry crowd.
Their plan worked a treat, as the couple spent less than £3,000 in total, less than one-sixth of the cost of a typical British wedding.
Jamie, 22, a pastoral assistant, said: "We didn't want to be financially affected by it. We just looked at how budget friendly we could do it. Jamie and Sam, 25, met four years ago on Tinder and hit it off - buying a house together in summer 2022.
