Orville Peck Unmasked: Singer Will Show Face As Emcee In Broadway’s ‘Cabaret At The Kit Kat Club’

Since the announcement came in January that country music star Orville Peck will replace Adam Lambert as the next Emcee in Broadway‘s Cabaret at the KitKat Club, the question in fans’ minds was whether he’ll perform with his trademark mask, perhaps somehow glitzed up to match Cabaret‘s outré style, or whether he’d ditch the trademark altogether.

The answer: Unmasked. In today’s New York Times profile of the singer, Peck confirms he will not wear a mask on Broadway. “The mask is part of my expression personally as an artist and a very big personal part of me,” Peck tells The Times. “But I’m here to play this role and to bring respect and integrity and hopefully a good performance to it.

It’s not about me. I’m not trying to make it the Orville Peck show.” Peck, who trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and appeared on London’s West End, will be making his Broadway debut.

He’ll be joined in Cabaret by Hadestown star Eva Noblezada as Sally Bowles, and both will play a limited 16-week engagement at the August Wilson Theatre starting Monday, March 31, through Sunday, July 20.
