Only Fools and Horses legends David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst could be reunited on the most unlikely of shows, with Kelsey Grammar saying "it makes sense" for the Derek Trotter actor to pop up in the rebooted series of his show Frasier.

Kelsey, 69, and Nicholas, 63, already star together in the Boston-set comedy and now its star has called for David, 84, to make an appearance.

Speaking to Metro, Kelsey said: "It makes sense. Who knows? I mean, he could just walk by and say “Dipstick”, couldn’t he? It might be really fun to have Alan [the sarcastic British professor Nicholas plays in the current series] maybe watching it, watching the old show or something?" He went on: "There’s any number of ways to maybe make that connection, because, of course it is a nostalgic show and Nick has such a huge, huge presence in the UK – with good reason!

He’s one of the best actors who ever lived. There’s no question about his abilities and he’s beloved, so we’ll mine that as much as we possibly can." Nicholas played Rodney Trotter, the younger brother of Sir David's brash Delboy, in Only Fools and Horses from 1981 until the final special of the show in 2003.
