Only Fools and Horses creator 'wishes he never wrote' one brutal episode

The iconic Only Fools And Horses has come under fire from its own creator for featuring a scene that was "so bad".The late John Sullivan, the genius behind the beloved comedy, was so let down by the notorious A Royal Flush episode that he wished it had never seen the light of day.

Despite drawing in an impressive 18 million viewers on its debut, this particular chapter has been labelled as one of the show's most significant flops.

Sullivan is reported to have "hated it", lamenting its existence.This Christmas turkey, which hit our screens on Christmas Day in 1986, even underwent censorship at the hands of Sullivan due to Del Boy's questionable behaviour.

But after a rigorous edit—slashing a whole 18 minutes and adding canned laughter—the episode was finally deemed suitable for a DVD release in 2005.
