There are only 2 TV shows currently awaiting decisions from CBS on their futures: The Equalizer, which stars Queen Latifah and airs on Sunday nights, and Poppa’s House, which stars Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. and airs on Monday nights.
There’s apparently good news and bad news associated with the fates of these two shows. Deadline reports that “conversations on both are continuing” towards possible renewals, however, the site notes that CBS’ fall slate is already jam-packed with little wiggle room.
If Poppa’s House can undergo a budget trim, it might look better for the show’s future, the site added. There’s allegedly only 1 comedy TV slot left, and Poppa’s House is competing with three pilots: DMV, Zarna and The Neighborhood spinoff.
Apparently, with The Equalizer, they’re looking to also trim the budget and have been in talks with Queen Latifah.
