OneGate Media Sells German Crime Drama ‘Vet Jacobs – Agent on Occasion’ to Warner Bros. Discovery’s Italian Network Giallo (EXCLUSIVE)

K.J. Yossman German crime drama “Vet Jacobs – Agent on Occasion” has sold to Warner Bros. Discovery’s network Giallo in Italy.

Known as “Nord bei Nordwest” in its native Germany, where the show has consistently delivered a high market share on ARD, the series stars Hinnerk Schönemann (“War Horse”) as Hauke Jacobs, a police officer turned veterinarian who moves to Schwanitz to start a new life on the Baltic Sea coast. “But peace is short-lived as crimes repeatedly occur in the idyllic small town, which Hauke solves with the help of the local police,” reads the logline. “Vet Jacobs” offers viewers a mix of crime, drama, and interpersonal relationships.

All 24 episodes, each 90 minutes long, will now be available to Italian audiences on WBD’s local free-to-air crime network Giallo.

Three new episodes are currently in production. The long-running series is produced by Triple Pictures. “We are so proud that ‘Vet Jacobs – Agent on Occasion’ will now be available to audiences in Italy,” said Tania Reichert-Facilides, managing director at German distributor OneGate Media, which reps international rights. “Having become an audience favourite in Germany, the series’ outstanding cast and intriguing stories makes it a marketable show for international viewers. ‘Vet Jacobs’ represents OneGate’s commitment to bringing high quality entertainment to the international market.” Sandro Sgrulloni, programming and content acquisition senior manager at WBD, said: “We’re delighted to have closed our first deal with One Gate Media and to be bringing this original and captivating series to more audiences around the world.” OneGate Media, which is owned by Studio Hamburg Group, recently sold “Tatort” to multiple territories and licensed the.
