One of Manchester's oldest and most historic pubs has lay abandoned and derelict since its closure. The Jolly Angler, on the corner of Ducie Street and Pigeon Street in Ancoats, dates back to 1854.
Before its closure just after Christmas 2020, it regularly featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide and was known for its traditional folk and Irish music nights.
Located on the streets between Piccadilly Station and Great Ancoats Street, the pub was described as a hidden gem, with one Trip Advisor review described it as: "[Looking] more like the the only terraced house in the street rather than a pub," adding: "If you can find it, it’s truly a step back in time and a rare glimpse of how a pub should really be.
Its hidden location just adds to its charm." Read More:The 15 things you could do in 1980s Manchester that you can't do now Recently, the inside of the pub was photographed by an urban explorer called Jake, and the photos uploaded to his Facebook page Exploring With Jake.
