As an Olympic gold medallist and elite sportswoman Sam Quek got used to keeping her feelings in check. in an exclusive chat. “When you’re an elite athlete you can’t let your emotions wander, they have to be contained.There is a job to do and you have to be very results focused. “But having the kids has definitely softened me.
I feel more empowered and if I’m sad I will cry; it’s good to let the kids see that that’s ok.” Sam, who still lives in her native Merseyside, shares two children with her property entrepreneur husband Tom Mairs who she married in 2018.
Molly is now three and Zac is two. Both children have recently enjoyed a joint Christening and birthday party based around a jungle theme compete with model zoo animals and a five tier cake.
