The United manager has rarely altered his Premier League side in recent weeks, with just two changes to his last six starting XIs in the league.
That came on Thursday when Timothy Fosu-Mensah replaced the injured Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay came in for the rested Nemanja Matic, but with those games in coming in just 23 days Solskjaer has seen the need to ring the changes with a cup final in sight.
The Norwegian made eight changes in the quarter-final win against Norwich City and United performed poorly on the day, only edging past the Canaries in.
