Manchester United hero Andy Cole has defended Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and hit out at criticism of the Old Trafford manager. United are in a dismal run of form stretching back to September.
They have lost home games to arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City by an aggregate scoreline of 7-0 and speculation continues to swirl about Solskjaer 's future.
Brendan Rodgers, Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag continue to be touted as potential replacements for Solskjaer in the likely event that the Norwegian is sacked.
Cole, who played with Solskjaer during his time with United from 1995 to 2001, hit out at his old team-mate's critics and suggested that the problem at Old Trafford cannot be solved by sacking another manager.
