Old plane destined for scrap heap transformed into quirky holiday rental site

An old Airbus jet destined for the scrap heap has been transformed into a quirky holiday rental. Dubbed 'Arabian Nights Airbus', the £179 a night rental sleeps up to four guests, and even has a terraced area and BBQ shelter.

The converted A319 is part of a catalogue of bizarre accommodation experiences by  Apple Campings  in Pembrokeshire. The aircraft was once owned by Air Canada then leased to Air Malta.

It was then bought by Etihad in 2003 before becoming the first plane to be decommissioned by the firm. After three decades in the air, it was saved from the reclamation yard after being bought for £45,000, the Manchester Evening News reports.
